Growing up in the countryside, I’ve always had a love for animals and the charm of country living. My journey into hospitality began in the horse racing industry, where I worked in sponsorship and corporate events at Sandown, Kempton and Epsom.
After marrying and settling at Burningfold Manor over 26 years ago, where we raised our four children, we were ready for our next adventure. It felt only natural to turn our beloved home into a commercial venture, having hosted numerous parties, charity events and weddings for family and friends over the years. Opening Burningfold to others meant they could create their own memories in a setting that has meant so much to us as a family.
What do you love most about your role at Burningfold?
I have always had a passion for sales and a genuine love for meeting new people. I never imagined how much I would enjoy the entire journey - from the very first inquiry, to chatting with couples about their plans, right through to the wedding day itself.
How would you describe the experience for couples getting married here?
At Burningfold Manor, we believe every wedding should reflect the couple’s unique story. With a charming selection of rooms, gardens and spaces to choose from, each celebration becomes a one-of-a-kind experience. Having been our treasured family home, we are dedicated to creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere where families and friends can gather, relax and reconnect. We really look forward to sharing this journey with each couple who celebrates here.
What makes Burningfold feel special to you?
Burningfold has always been a place where special memories are made. For our family, it was our marital home - a house full of charm and character where it has always felt easy and natural to enjoy yourself. The walled gardens, in particular, provide a relaxed and private haven, offering a sense of calm and exclusivity that makes the estate feel truly special.
What’s your favourite moment on a wedding day?
Every wedding brings its own emotional moments. The anticipation as the bride gets ready with her bridesmaids, the look on a father’s face when he sees his daughter for the first time, and the couple’s reaction when they walk into their wedding breakfast setup all feel incredibly special.
The moment the groom sees his bride walking down the aisle is unforgettable, as are the speeches and the couple’s first dance. Each couple brings their own personality to the day - sometimes with humour, sometimes with quiet - and that’s what makes every wedding at Burningfold so unique. What unfolds here is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that can never be replicated.
